Group Excercise

From low-impact exercise, stretching and strength training to indoor cycling, water exercise, and yoga, the Y offers group exercise classes to suit every age, interest and ability level.

Aquacise

Full body cardio workout that uses resistance and core exercises to produce a low impact workout.

AQUARITIS

Classes are held in the shallow end of our heated indoor pool, incorporating Arthritis Foundation approved exercises such as walking, gentle stretching, flexing and extending to develop better range of motion.  Activities of daily living, moving a joint through its’ range of motion and holding it to feel a gentle stretch.

BEGINNER YOGA

Introductory class provides the beginner exerciser with foundational yoga poses and breathing techniques.

BOOT CAMP

A combination of exercises to focus on improving cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength through running, burpees, push-ups and more.  Each planned workout incorporates different methods of training.

GENTLE STRETCH

Focuses on stretching and gentle lower back exercises.

GROUP CYCLING

A variable intensity class done on stationary bikes.  This exciting class utilizes music paired with varied resistance and cadence drills.  This class is suitable for all fitness levels – Please arrive early if it’s your first time.

LINE DANCING

A dance class that teaches a repeated sequence of steps to music and where a group of people dance in lines!  No dance experience is needed

POWER PUMP / HIIT

Challenges muscular endurance as well as balance and coordination by moving through all phases of motion with multi-joint compound exercises.  Strengthen to move like we do in everyday life.  Class incorporates dumbbells, medicine balls, and resistance tubing.

Y AEROBICS

Focus on core strength while incorporating balance moves and stretches.  It is the perfect way for all seniors to improve overall flexibility and core strengh while increasing their balance and stability.

Y STEP AEROBICS

Low impact/high energy workout improves overall fitness by building strength, reducing fat and boosting your cardiovascular health.

YOGA

Routines incorporating basic yoga poses.  Excellent for developing strength, improving flexibility and balance while helping to reduce stress.

ZUMBA

A Total workout, combining cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility.  Experience boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you attend class.

Fitness Challenges

Each year the Legacy YMCA creates different fitness challenge for our members.  Members compete in individual and/or team competitions to lose weight, tone-up, and track their progress.  Prizes for winners and finishers are given out at the end of each fitness challenge.

No matter your health or wellness goal, the YMCA’s personal training program can provide you the support and motivation you need to reach it. Key benefits of working with a personal trainer include:

Every personal trainer at the Y is nationally certified to ensure they have the expertise and knowledge to develop a wellness program tailored to your specific needs and interests. Trainers are further hired based on their passion and commitment to the Y and its mission to improve our community’s health and well-being.

Personal training options include the choice of training individually or in a buddy setting (2 people). We even offer personal training services for youth.

Youth Fitness Orientation

This program is offered to youth 10-17 years old and is a great way to introduce them to physical activity and a healthy lifestyle. Our wellness staff will train them to use cardio, free weights and strength machines correctly and safely.

Adult Sports Leagues

Whether you miss suiting up, or you’re new to team sports, Legacy YMCA adult sport leagues provide a pefect opportunity to be active and connect with the sport you love.  

All adult sports leagues are priced per team.

Flag Football (7 vs 7) *Cost $400

Active Older Adults

The Y has fitness classes specifically designed for older adults. They give participants an opportunity to stay physically active or in some cases, to overcome their fear of exercise and begin being physically active. Active Older Adults programs include water exercise, yoga and stretching classes and walking clubs. Our YMCA also offers socialization opportunities like quarterly potluck luncheon, monthly birthday celebrations, day trips and more!

Renew Active and Silver & Fit

Get more active with people just like you!  Renew Active and Silver & Fit includes exercise classes, social events, health workshops and screenings as well as volunteer opportunities.

The Legacy YMCA was selected to be a partner with these programs for its warm, friendly and safe environment.

If your health care plan includes the Renew Active or Silver & Fit program as part of your benefits package, you can participate at the YMCA at no additional cost to your monthly health care premium.  Call your insurance plan administrator to see if you are eligible to be a part of the Renew Active or Silver & Fits program.
